As we begin another school year, keeping our students and staff safe while still providing the high quality Catholic education that our families except is the highest priority. Each of the NDAA schools return plan is a little different based on their student population size.
Holy Angels started in person classes on time. Numerous safety precautions are being taken including increased number of hand sanitizing stations, use of masks and face shields, and enhanced cleaning of the building. Changes have been made to classroom layouts to help create more personal space.
Central Catholic has started in-person for elementary students and is using a hybrid model for middle school. They offered four nights prior to the start of school for teachers to met with small groups of parents to teach them how to access virtual learning platforms. Parents learned to sign into google classroom, check their child's grades on Jupiter, and how to check if assignments have been submitted correctly.
St. Philip Neri is taking numerous safety precautions including health screenings, requiring masks, and increasing sanitation. Thanks to Shea Family Charities the school bathrooms have new fixtures including touch-less faucets which will help reduce frequently touched surfaces.
Holy Cross started in person classes on time while following all Marion County Board of Health protocols. Each classroom has a sanitation station for increased cleanliness. Social-Emotional learning efforts will be concentrated to help student relationships and processing any trauma caused by the pandemic.
