From Central Catholic Principal Ruth Hurrle
Our amazing para-professionals work side by side with teachers in pre-K through third grade in order to provide small group instruction and individualized attention to help ensure each child gets the ability to reach his or her full potential. Instructional assistants co-plan with the classroom teachers every day and participate in all of our school-wide professional development, as well as planning our MTCA professional development opportunities.
With all of our lower grade classrooms at capacity this year, our instructional assistants help to ensure that our most vulnerable students do not get left behind during class. They also provide enrichment to students who master content quickly so that the classroom teachers are able to devote more time to students who need extra attention in understanding the material.
Instructional Assistants work in collaboration with our teachers and Instructional Coaches to differentiate the content so that our students are mastering the content to succeed academically.
